Moon Gown

Source: Original Design

Completed: 2009

This costume was created for Costume-Con 2009's single pattern contest. In the single pattern contest, you are given a choice of a pattern, usually one female and one male, and you create what you want based on the given pattern. One can do pretty much anything to it as long as it is still recognizable as the base pattern. I went with McCall's 4997, and the other available pattern was Butterick 3830. Since I was doing the contest with a friend, we decided to go with a sun and moon theme. I originally made a star themed crown to go with the outfit, but lost it somewhere along the way. In its place, I made a fascinator in the shape of a star with feather decorations.
